I so intended to do lessons learned from the tornadoes… I need to update about my garden.    I want to write about some recipes I have recently tried.   But at the end of the day, we have had 2 surgeries in the last 2 weeks.  The end of school in which I helped Martha’s teacher’s aide make a quilt from the kid’s art work for Martha’s teacher!   It came out absolutely wonderful.  I am going to start another quilt here soon.   All the end of the year activities that were going on.   Well, I just didn’t have time to even think about my computer.   You folks who blog on a daily basis, I don’t know how you do it!   But kudos to you!   So Becca is now without adenoids and has a 2nd set of tubes in.   Amazing how well that is working out.  Her speech has improved dramatically.    And funny enough, the sinus drainage that used to be an issue has disappeared and her blood pressure yet again has started to decline!   Yippee!   Martha is now lacking her tonsils and adenoids.   She is still recovering from surgery, but doing much better!   She will also be going to Mayo Clinic in August to see a Constipation specialist.   Hopefully, we can get that taken care of just as easily as we have the tonsils and the adenoids.

So what are we going to be doing this  summer.   Well my original plan was school and pool.  But that has since been changed, since the pool was damaged by the tornadoes and no clue as to when it will open.   So, we are doing school. Yes, I know we just got out of school.  But I don’t think learning should stop just because we just got out of school.   I always am looking for ways to engage myself in an activity to expand my knowledge.    Besides, we have a hard time working on clay words during the year due to all the hustle and bustle of activities after school.   So, I want to work on one of those a day!  Hoping to get through about 50 of them before school starts up again.  Martha really likes playing with her clay, so hopefully this will help her.   We are also going to start working on our US Map.   We will read either together or she can read to me daily.   She wants to work in a journal on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Ha!  She is so funny!   We will also be working on her math skills!    Another skill we need to work with on Martha is forming letters correctly.   I think her and Becca are going to be using the same book.   Becca wants to learn how to write her letters.   So we are going to be working on that as well as simple skills like cutting.     I am thinking Friday’s should be dedicated to games.  The girls want to do science experiments as well.    So we will set aside some time to work on those as well.

We also have plans on hitting the free movies or the $1 movies this summer!    The kids love to go to the theatre.  So I have that booked into the calendar!   And then the library has awesome activities as well for the kids.   We will be joining friends for pool time.     We have trips to Chicago planned.   And Martha and I shall be taking a jaunt to Rochester, Minnesota.   I have never been to Minnesota so that shall be interesting.  =)  We also have Vacation Bible School this summer.   The theme is Pandamonia!   Yippee!  I have been teaching Becca a song so she can help me sing it to the other kids!   Ha!

Well that is what is going on this side of the world!  I promise to show off the quilt as well as my garden in the next coming days!
